It's About Frickin Time!

Many of you have noticed that I have been MIA for about three weeks. If you suspected that I was sick and had to go the hospital, or that I have met someone who is a wonderful distraction, and is occupying much of my previously allocated blog-time, you'd be correct.

I would like to thank everyone who commented or emailed me expressing concern for well-being, and wonderment as to my where-abouts. I have been remiss in reading all of your posts, and in writing any of my own. I do hope to rectify this, slowly but surely.

Work is extremely busy right now. I have three fairly big projects going on right now, with a couple little ones jammed in there for good measure. I have a lovely young woman, smart and pretty, who seems to find me irresistible vying for my attention, and the blog has suffered immensely, and I miss you all!

It seems the longer you spend not writing your blog, the more intimidating the virtual sheet of blank paper in front of you becomes. I began to think that just opening up the "new post" screen, would cause it to somehow grab me by the ear, and throw me out in the hallway, while I tried desperately to think of something innocent to tell the principal when he walked by and asked what I was doing out here. Not that I would know what that feels like...but I digress. I have spent some time thinking about what to write about and decided that a simple update will have to do to get the blog-ball rolling again.

Golf started. I play in a women's league once a week, with my golf partner, Lily. This is our third season as a team. We are in a crappy division, but we have won our division the past two years. I like to say that we are the best of the worst, or at the top of the bottom pile...anyway, we are only there to have fun, and we do. Lily is a warm and thoughtful person with a sharp wit, and a positive attitude. She's every one's cheerleader, and she's especially good at keeping me even, and calm without ever saying the dreaded phrase..."calm down". We laugh a lot, and see blue birds and orioles, and hawks, and woodchucks, and bunnies on the course. It's a real treat.

About ten days ago I got very sick. It was late Wednesday night. There was sweating and nausea, and blood. I was scared, but I'm self-employed and don't have medical insurance, so I tried to wait it out...by Friday morning my mother informed me she was coming to get me and take me to the hospital. I did not want to go. I have an unreasonable fear of hospital, and all things medical, but couldn't argue. I was in too much pain, and I knew I needed to go. I was admitted Friday, and released on Sunday, Mother's Day. It was quite an experience which I will go into detail about on my other blog.

I have been enjoying the weather. I planted my herb garden, my tomatoes, and filled my planter and my flower pots on the deck with beautiful flowers. The hummers are here, and I managed to snag a photo of one while standing in my kitchen. I am feeling optimistic, obviously I haven't received the bill from the hospital yet. I am busy and should be able to get caught up with finances which will be a huge relief. Now if only I get the price of gas to go down instead of up up up!

I am equally excited and sorry for you because of this post! I'm thrilled to hear the good news and then again worried about your health. Hope it all balances out for you and welcome back!

Happy that you're back Red. I visit every morning but thought maybe work had taken priority. Sorry to hear about your illness . . no insurance? And you're self employed? Gawd . . .I'm a single mum so 30% of my salary goes on Income Protection and Health insurance . . .kills me but has to be done!

I feel terrible that I didn't suspect you were ill - I figured you were really busy. I suppose it never occurs to me that people actually have life happening to them all the while they are blogging - I was just waiting to read all about it! Have missed you plenty!!

ps - lovelovelove the hummer photo - and congrats on your great golf game and exciting bird watching.

WHAAAA! You've made up for your absence with that stunner of a Hummingbird photo and post! So pleased health and recovery is flying your way now :) Hope learning your gas prices are still a fraction of what Aussies have to pay helps take a tad load off those shoulders. Welcome back!

I was beginning to wonder what happened...but I was sure it was a woman, so I didn't want to jump to horrible conclusions. That said, if I hadn't found a blog post today I was gonna send an email alert! Thank the goddesses it's a woman...mostly I hope. Hope your sickness recovery is swift! And I'm self-employed too, but I have health insurance. I just have a HIGH deductible so I can afford the premiums...and they're tax deductible.

I hope the good is far outweighing the bad now. Distractions are lovely. And you've reminded me I need to put my hummingbird feeder out NOW.

I was getting ready to take a road trip at $4 frickin a gallon to hunt you down and see what's up!

Sure hope you are feeling better, you got a lot of work to do and bills to pay!

Congrats on the girlfriend.

Citizen, The good does outweigh the bad. Get that feeder out! :)

slip, Thanks for that. You can always come visit anyway if you manage to save up enough four-dollarses.

What a coincidence! I, too, have been playing golf with a very special young lady.

Well, it's "Polar Golf" (computer game) with my 4-1/2 year old daughter. But,gee, that should count for SOMETHING!

Good to have you back and among the living. I hate hospitals too. I have to be bad off to go to one. Sounds like you've got a good partner too. Now if you could just get that virtual blank sheet to write itself! I actually pre-write mine. When I post; I usually have from 10-20 to pick from. Disgusting, isn't it?

Glad that you're back and out of the hospital. That had to freak you out -- it's freaking me out and it didn't even happen to me.

But it definitely sounds like your life is quite full right now. Better that than an empty one, I always say.

Take it easy ...

craig d, thanks for visiting me. Coming to see you soon. Of course anything you do with you four and a half year old daughter counts!

dorky, It did freak me out! Thanks for the empathy. Full and busy, make me happy.

I'm glad you're back in action, and that your love life is, too.

I've been holding my breath waiting for the bills from Flip's recent visit to the hospital and totally sympathize, but thankfully you're well again.

I'll go read the details on your other blog now.

heartinsanfrancisco said...

Oh. I already saw the details. I thought there might be more.

Take good care of your wonderful self.

Welcome back. Hope you're feeling better and that it's nothing serious. BTW, did you redo your blog template to match the Grundir banner, or did I just happen to design the banner to go perfectly with your template?

heartinsanfrancisco, Thank you so much for your worry and wishes. You are very kind. :)

diesel, Thanks for stopping by. The banner did just happen to fit in to my theme very nicely. :)
Unfortunately, I haven't been tagged since adding it.

debra kay, Full and busy does beat the crap out of empty and idle! Thank your for your concern!

Ces, Thank you for your well wishes. Lily is a wonderful person, although I think some people are getting the impression that Lily is my romantic interest, when she is my very good friend and golf partner! Doh!

Slip, Sorry dude, I'm trying. I'm behind in everything...

quickroute, thanks for coming by despite my lack of visits your way, I am trying, i promise.
