A Glorious Fall Day

Today was a GOOD day. I am working in Westfield these days in my parent's new house. They have down sized and the house is well built, but very poorly decorated. I have been stripping wallpaper, washing and skimming walls. Removing casing at the top of walls meant to look like crown molding, sanding and taping woodwork in preparation for paint. Every inch will need to be painted. My mother (an interior designer) dislikes all the colors and finishes. I agree of course!
During a break, I decided to call that Indian mechanic, I got the number for the other day. He was friendly and knowledgeable. He told me that the oil leaking from Lucille was normal given the time she sat, so I can ride her. I was very happy.
I worked a while longer and decided since the universe was smiling on me today, I might call this woman I met back in February and ask her out. I have seen her on several occasions since we first met, but was never sure whether she was single or not. I've been trying to find out, but have been unsuccessful. The thought of rejection has frozen me for quite some time, but recently I saw a movie called "Train Man: Densha Otoko" It was a wonderful story about a socially inept computer geek who meets a woman on a train, and with the help of his Internet community asks her out and actually goes on a date with her, and then another, etc. If you don't mind subtitles, I highly recommend it! Not that I am in any way a socially inept computer geek, but his network of friends did remind me of this blogging community. Anyway, that also helped give me the courage to call and ask, and now we have a date. This may not seem like a big deal, but I have been so busy trying to get my business going, I haven't been on a date in nearly two years! :0
I feel optimistic, possibilities abound. This is the good stuff.

Great news about Lucille! Take Ces on that ride, I want to see photographs! I don't remember ever being on a 'date'. True! Set up plenty of blind ones though ;)

Thank you very much for this beautiful fall foliage picture. I have been asking my friend in Massachussets to post some but Noooo! So thank you for the visual treat. Oh gee, a date. Like Anon, I can't remember being on a date. I considered all of mine just a night out for coffee or dinner or a movie. i focused on the activity and if I enjoyed the company I would go out again. I never went out on a date with my husband. it's a long story. I hope you have a good time and find her wonderful. Oh how exciting, a date!

kj, Thanks for your entusiastic support.

Anon, I am very pleased about Lucille and if I ever really get Ces on her, there WILL be pictures!

Ces, I didn't know you wanted fall pictures, but I'm glad I threw you one. I was disappointed with it, the colors were so much more vivid, especially the sky.
I'm excited and a little nervous, but that's part of the fun.
PS. I dated your husband a while, you didn't miss much ;)

I don't think you could get a more vibrant photograph on a computer. I gasp at thinking it was more so in real life! Ces ignored my reminding she wants a ride on Lucille :) HAHHAHHAAAAA will she comment under this post again regarding dating?

Anon, I hope she hasn't been back yet. I need her to be amused at my "ps" I don't want to be in hot water!

Oh, this is very exciting!! It is certainly courageous to ask her out. But I always say: 'nooit geschoten is altijd mis', what means: I you never fire (shoot), you are always missing... er....something like that :-) What are you going to wear? Is leaking Lucille coming with you :-) Oh dear! What is all this about you dating Ces'husband?

Wieneke, Thanks for your interest. You are right, you've got to play to win! :)
My motorcycle is fine now, but I don't think she'll come on the date. Three's a crowd.
I'm not sure what to wear yet, but I'll be picking out something snazzy, that's for sure!

I didn't really date Ces's husband, I was teasing her, but she hasn't been back to see, yet.

Ha! Dating my husband? Unless you were in the Philippines, India, Indonesia or Nepal, you did not date him. He was everywhere except where I was, so that is why, no dating with him. :-)

Ces, hmmm I could have sworn it was him, Oh my God, then who was that guy?

An across-the-board good day. Good for you.

CS, Thanks, I'd like to have a lot more of them, but too many, and I wouldn't appreciate them as much.
