Is Anybody Out There?

I've been conspicuously absent for a couple months. It's summer...I've been busy, I've been lazy, I've been involved...with someone. It's hard to pin down exactly why I haven't wanted to share. I haven't felt inspired to write. I haven't felt creative in the story telling way. My heads been mashed full of jobs and feelings and then had a ton of pressure applied making a sort of thought pancake out of everything. It's not pretty. I would like to show you a little bit of what I've been doing though...

I have been trying to get the outside of this very large house painted, the rain has not let up all summer. In two and a half months we have had about 12 days so far where the house was dry enough to work on. It has been scraped 3 times now, because with each new rain more peeling occurs. It has been maddening.

I built this corner cabinet to a customers specs. Dimensions and color, slate blue with red underneath, then rubbed through in places.

And I carefully removed all the old paint, and repaired broken and missing wicker, primed and painted this set of old wicker furniture.

I'm sorry I haven't been around much to read and comment on your blogs. I expect things to slow to a normal and hopefully steady pace here soon. I hope to manage my time a little better and reconnect with everyone as fall approaches. I really do miss everyone and hope to back among you shortly.

Red, haha . . you have a life! I don't . . take you're time but don't go away for good! (I've lost a few bloggers this winter/summer) Cheers! Well done on the house exterior, I'm still pondering painting the interior of my place . . .

Citizen, Thanks, I haven't really been in the reading loop lately, but I'm coming!

boo7, Thanks, I think the cabinet is one of the best things I've ever built. I don't like blue, but that's what she wanted. The red coming through does look good!

I'm down to blogging once a week due to graduate school. I think we all understand that life sometimes has a way of demanding more time. Thankfully Google Reader allows me to study the books and catch up on blogs later. It's just good to see you!

Where'd the summer go? With marriage and building a house I'm frazzled. I see I'm not the only one overwhelmed though. Many bloggers took hiatus for many reasons. It was sad seeing you slip from 3rd to 4th place on the blog roll though. Welcome back!

It's wonderful to see some news of you, and your projects are beautiful. I can't imagine scraping a large house three times to paint. You do exquisite work!

Try to enjoy the rest of your summer weather, hopefully some of it dry, and don't feel pressured to share anything until and unless you're ready.

Glad to hear you have been seeing someone. :)

Did you paint that wicker black? Hmmm - that must just be primer.

I admire a gal who knows how to paint. I suck at it.

Shit I am in the same boat. Who the hell said retirement was easy? I took the summer off, very little work for others. Just trying to catch up some of my own work. Blogging slipped way down on the list of things to do.

But once again you motivated me I am going to post to my blog today!
